After graduating college with a four year degree the third step is to apply to law schools. Getting accepted to a prestigious law school could help your efforts in landing a well paying legal job after graduation. While you’re in law school you will learn a lot more about the legal world. Law school typically covers the theory but isn’t the best at applying the “real world” scenarios. Because of this you may want to look into any internships or associate positions available at local law firms. Not only would this be good experience but also builds up your contacts which could help when you get to the job hunting phase.
Once you graduate from law school it’s time to take the bar exam. Every state in the United States besides Colorado requires you to pass law school before taking the bar exam. The bar exam is taken nationwide twice a year and will test your legal knowledge. After passing the exam you will be sworn in as a legally licensed attorney.
