tinyurl.com ADAG was quick to respond through a conference call. We are happy to note that in response to recent events, the petroleum ministry has in its statement today expressed its commitment to protect the interests of NTPC. We trust the petroleum ministry will take all steps to now ensure that NTPC gets 12 mmscmd of gas from RIL at a price of $2.34 /mmbtu for 17 years for its Kawas & Gandhar expansion projects, Reliance Power CEO JP Chalasani said. NTPC is engaged in a legal dispute with RIL in the Bombay High Court. The power firm moved court after RIL allegedly refused to honour a gas supply contract to supply 12 million standard cubic meters of gas daily (MMSCMD) from its KG-D6 block at $2.34 per million British thermal unit (mmbtu) arrived through a competitive bid. RNRL is interested in ntpcs case as the state-run enterprises fate is linked to the ADAG companys position in the legal dispute with RIL.
