Why You Need a DUI Lawyer

DUI Lawyer 300x300 Why You Need a DUI LawyerA DUI is a huge mark on your record. This dark mark can ruin your chances at receiving a loan, insurance, or getting a decent job. It is imperative for you to get a lawyer that will not judge you and help you with your case. A DUI Lawyer is not something for hardened criminals, but for those who have received a bout of bad luck and need a second chance. You are a normal human being that is about to have your life destroyed and you need help.

Lawyers are an important thing to have, especially in a case such as this. DUI lawyers are experienced with plea bargaining in these cases. Plea bargaining is an attempt at reducing your charge to a lesser one, such as reckless driving. If you decide to plea guilty then you will likely need to bargain what sentence you will have. Sentence bargaining is sometimes more important and can keep you from going to jail. Pleading guilty is only advised if you have an extremely high blood alcohol content at the time of your DUI and you know what sentence you are going to get. In any case I highly recommend you seek legal counsel with your DUI case.

If this is your second DUI arrest then you definitely need a lawyer. If cost is a concern then most DUI lawyers will offer payment plans and work with you to find out a way to help. Finding such a lawyer is not as difficult as it may seem. A simple internet search with your city name will turn up multiple pages of attorneys that will handle your case. Do not pick a DUI lawyer on cost alone, check out multiple choices and find the one that fits your case perfectly. You do not want a sub par lawyer defending you that is late to court dates.

Do Check: How Does a DUI Plea Bargain Work?

If the cost seems like too much for a DUI lawyer then consider the possible savings on fines alone. A lawyer can sometimes cost only $1000. Consider how much you will lose with your salary if you are thrown in jail. Some fines can be in the tens of thousands, that $1000 investment isn’t looking so bad now right? You have to remember that DUI is a serious charge and with it comes serious consequences, the best thing you can do for yourself is try to get your charges reduced.

What can be even worse than fines and jail time is the blemish on your record. Some countries like Canada won’t even let you enter as it is considered a felony. Employers will do background checks and discover your DUI and regardless of the reasons of your arrest, will see you as irresponsible and a risk. The effects of a DUI charge on your record is far-reaching and will negatively impact your life far after you serve your time and pay your fines. This may not seem fair, but this is the way the law works, and the only way to stop this is to stop it during court.

Sometimes all of this will be overwhelming and the threat of all these consequences can scare you. A lawyer can put all of this into perspective why and make everything manageable. Lawyers can calm you down and show you that not everything is lost and you can make it out of this thing intact. If you don’t know where to turn and how to deal with your case then this is the way to go. You don’t even need to pay upfront as most institutions do free case evaluations before even spending a penny.

If this is not your first DUI charge then you will NEED a lawyer. If you don’t then you will most surely have to face jail time for your crime. Usually you will get off with a lesser charge if no one was injured and property wasn’t damaged on your first offence. Later offences show you as a repeat offender and a danger to society. A lawyer knows how to deal with these situations and is your best bet. These lawyers are experienced with DUI cases and know the ins and outs of the business. This will prove to be crucial during your hearing. Here is an interesting article containing Statistics of DUI’s, You can leave your feedback by commenting in post.
